Harfords point

We wrapped up a home in Harfords Point yesterday. Nice cape style home with a million dollar, 270 degree view of moosehead lake.

Lovin' late summer

Late summer means:

Haying

our first glimpse of fall colors

one more trip to the coast and a stop for lobster rolls

the bloom of my one white oriental lily (the rest were slug food)

Garlic harvest (this year I have 4 new varieties!)

And Eccle Cakes. This was given to me in a wedding gift, a family cook book. It came from my grandmother, who got it from her mother. Phyllo dough, blueberries, brown sugar and butter, a delicious combination!

First corn

Lizzie enjoys her first corn on the cob. I love how her brow furrows as she is going in for a big bite....

Clean up

John & Dad spent several sunday afternoons cleaning the back barn for our party. this space normally houses equipment, store boats and when I was a kid it was home to hay and sometimes animals.

#250

Wow, this is my 250th post! Well, I have just a very worthy subject for this post, a brunch party at camp with the Dickens Clan. Sarah, Mike & Allie were visiting Maine and we all gathered at camp for brunch, visiting, swimming, sauna etc...

oh and the magic tricks!

BRA - VO!

This weekend was the Bras for the Cause auction in Pittsfield (http://www.bras4thecause.org). About 40 bras were submitted to the auction, which was a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. The bras were created by artists, survivors and other creative people with breasts. I bought a lamp disguised with a Bra. My sister, Emily got a bra made from buttons (she loves buttons) and my mom got a few creations, most notably the 'boobie bowl' (http://queenofthemacks.blogspot.com/).
Bras, Bras everywhere!

This is my mom's entry, Sally whose bra is filled with Succulents.... very clever.
