wish we didn't have to say goodbye

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our Nellie. She was a great dog, a gentle soul, a faithful companion, the best greeter, noticer of all things out of place, and a never ending source of joy. She was our first 'baby', she made us a family, and we will hold her in our heart forever.

mooselookmeguntik - the fishing

I am no fisher person, but all signs point to fantastic fishing on our camping trip. John & Will had quiet the competition, netting more than 30 fish between the two of them! It was all catch and release, trout was the prize, and bass or sunfish might cost you points (these two had quiet the game going). Anyway, here are a few of the catches:

mooselookmeguntik - the camping

This year we embarked on our 4th annual camping trip on Mooselookmeguntik with friends Will & Kristen. We had beautiful weather, great food, good rest, delightful company, a gaze worthy fire, amazing fishing (fish post to come) and even went for a quick swim!

gotta love the camp fire

catching some rays
coffee and reading provisions- heaven

Kristen does a little food prep. This years menu included swordfish, corn, potatoes, homemade meatballs, cheesecake, smores and more! Do we know how to camp or what?!?!

So, we had some trouble with our air mattress so we 'put a cork in it' - ha! And... it worked!

Dan's new digs

A couple of weeks ago Dad, Mom, John & I went to visit Dan at his new place! He has a great apartment in a great location and it was fun to help him warm and furnish this new place.

flying a kite

I held onto this kite for some friends. A beautiful fall day, laying in the grass.....

latest wind turbine install

A few photos from a wind turbine install last week. This is a 10kw machine the Town of Pittsfield has had installed at the town transfer station. Very exciting!
And the lift begins:

John unhooks the crane from the tower, quite a view from up there!

Surprise, a little early

Well, this past weekend I believe we succeeded in surprising my sister with an unexpected birthday party. Her birthday is still months away, so she suspected nothing. So fun! Here she is relaxing on the porch with friend and fellow party planner, Joanne.

It was a great day - perfect lake weather. Lots of swimming, fishing and even a camp fire complete with s'mores in the evening. Happy Birthday Em!
