still in the snow!

Nellie was such a good dog this week while John was gone and I was sick. She laid on the floor by the couch - right beside me. When she stretches out she is practically as big as the couch. I tried to get a photo of her sprawled out but she was too interested in the camera so this was as good as I could get.

The snow has started today for what sounds like quite a storm. Nellie wants to be right out in the snow. I keep thinking that spring just HAS to be right around the corner...
Nellie and I went to Winterport for breakfast this past weekend. Nellie is staying with Em, Ryan & Brinkley (oh and poor, poor sootie the cat) while we are away for a long ski weekend the week after next. Nellie had only been to their house one other time so we thought she should hang out there a bit. Surprise, surprise, she loves it there and will have SO much fun with the parker clan.
John made it back from Utah early this morning after a very long day of trying to get home. His flights were delayed over and over again as a result of bad weather in chicago. But, he did make it home, albeit 3:00 this morning! He leaves for Nashville Tenn on Thursday night for a couple of days. I am pretty sure he has had enough of air travel for awhile! We are really looking forward to our ski weekend in VT with the crew though!

Trip to Florida

John and I just got back from nearly a week in florida. The weather was perfect and we even had some time to enjoy it! We spent most of the week at the International Builder show which was pretty amazing. It is attended by ~70k people and there are thousands of exibitors and hundreds of training seminars. We soaked in as much good info as we could though by the end of the week we were pretty well absorbed :). So, saturday was spent by the pool. Then Sunday we headed to the Daytona 500. It was quite an experience to be with a quarter million people. The track is quite big so it is a little hard to see. We were right at turn 2 though and there was a lot of action there. Unfortunately I had come down with a fierce head cold on sunday and so didn't enjoy the race as much as I might have otherwise. I think John was able to really enjoy it though! We flew back to Maine on monday. Our flights we delayed and we were re-routed. We didn't actually land until Tuesday morning but we made it home just the same. Thanks to mom and dad for being such good troopers and picking us up in the middle of the night and for hosting Nellie for the week! Check out their blog at http://burgess5.blogspot.com/ to see the adventures they had with Nellie while we were gone.
John leaves tomorrow for a long weekend in Utah with his buddy Ron......

Newport Home Complete

This home is on the lake in Newport. The homeowners moved in this past weekend. It has an amazing view! This marks the last of the homes from last year. Now we can focus on the houses coming up this spring. The first home of 'spring' will be set next week and is actually a new model at our office.

Etna House 'complete'

Here are a few pictures of the home in Etna. The homeowner is doing a lot of the interior finish work so the floors are not in etc. It is a beautiful floor plan with a lot of built in character.

Nellie the Newfoundlands 1st Birthday

Nellie was whelped 1 year ago on Jan 31st. We figured she would prefer steak in lieu of birthday cake...

Notice how she watches John very carefully as he gets her steak ready....
