so, I have been on a bit of a knitting kick as of late (aka the last 5+ years). anyway, here is a picture of my latest creation, specially made for a couple of new baby boys. i don't believe their respective parents check my blog, so i don't think i am spoiling the surprise. plus even if they did check the blog, i am sure they have their hands too full to look much these days, courtesy of the new little men in their lives. this was a free pattern at thanks to the thrifty knitter. The grey tweed is a cascade 220 and the green is a baby cashmere from Debbie Bliss. The buttons are from my mis-match button jar.

winter fun
snow management
lucky for me, there are men in my life that manage most of the snow for me. They plow, do most of the shoveling and even get the snow off the roof.
cocoon
Mother nature has graced us with a few snow storms in the last couple of weeks. Though I am certainly ready for spring, there are few things more beautiful than a fresh heavy snow fall. It weighs down the tree limbs creating a cocoon like feeling on our road and in our driveway.

racing and spa day
This group of fun and fabulous women and I used my upcoming wedding as a great reason/excuse to go to portland and have a decadent foot soak. It was heaven. Thanks so much for going with me!

This is Johns race car, re incarnated as an 'ice racer'. Pretty mean looking huh? Making the transition to an 'ice racer' means that the tires have been changed to include heavy duty studs and chains. This also means that he had to fix whatever was ailing at the end of the summer race season (which he did). The ice racing happens at Moosehead Lake every saturday for about a month or so as conditions allow. John's went last weekend and had a blast until he blew a tire.

Our wedding is only 5 days away! I will post lots of pics of the event next week.

word search
the right words escape me. this past weekend our lovely families and friends threw us a wedding shower. i knew the wedding shower was in the works but was completely blown away by the love and support we were 'showered' with. we say 'thanks' for so many everyday things that it hardly seems powerful enough to properly convey our appreciation.

i only managed to register for a handful of things. while the party goer's may found this annoying, i am SO glad i did not have the wherewith all to register for more. why? above is just one example. our family and and friends made or picked out the most thoughtful, beautiful and generous gifts. we have so many new family treasures as a result. the painting above was created for us by friend 'queenie' (click to go to her blog). for now this masterpiece will reside in our model home, but only until the minute we have a new home to put it in.
